Bio
Mike DeBuhr joins Oak Hills Christian College as the Head Women's Basketball Coach, bringing 13 years of coaching experience. He began his collegiate coaching career in 2013 at UW–Marathon County as the assistant men and women's coach before becoming the head women's coach in 2017. As head coach, he led the team to back-to-back Wisconsin Collegiate Conference championships, including a 19-0 season.
Following his collegiate success, Mike coached at Newman Catholic High School, served as Head Girls Basketball Coach at Merrill High School, and most recently became the Head Coach of Providence Academy's first ever WIAA-sanctioned girls basketball team. At Merrill, he was recognized as the district's Coach of the Year for leading one of the program's most improved seasons. Mike earned his Associate of Arts degree from the UW-Marinette and his Bachelors of Science in Physical Education with a minor in Coaching from William Carey University.
Mike's coaching philosophy emphasizes an up-tempo, unselfish style of play built on discipline, toughness, and teamwork. Above all, he is passionate about developing Christ-centered student-athletes who pursue excellence spiritually, academically, and athletically. He is excited to join the Oak Hills community, where he believes God has called him to disciple young women through basketball. Mike and his wife, Jamee, are blessed with five children and consider their family to be their greatest ministry.
