Wolfpack Rally in Second Half Comes Up Short vs. Trinity Bible
Bemidji, MN – The Oak Hills Christian College Wolfpack dropped an NCCAA home contest to Trinity Bible College on Tuesday night at the Schreiber Activity Center, falling 88–72.
Oak Hills opened the game with energy and scored the first basket, but Trinity Bible settled in quickly and used hot perimeter shooting to build momentum. The Lions connected on 11 three-pointers in the first half and carried a 37–28 advantage into the break.
The Wolfpack responded coming out of halftime, trimming the deficit to as few as three points midway through the second half. Oak Hills shot 50 percent from the floor after the break and showed strong interior play, but Trinity Bible answered each push with timely shooting and extended the lead down the stretch.
Junior, Nate Vinson (Maple Grove, MN) led all Wolfpack scorers with a game-high 27 points, shooting 9-of-16 from the field and 8-of-9 at the free-throw line. Junior, Lanygel McCracken (Pensacola, FL) recorded a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds while adding two blocks, and Junior, Keith Wilson (Pompano Beach, FL) finished with eight points and five assists. Freshman Joshua Deckert (Devil's Lake, ND) added nine points, while Senior, Bryson Keepers (Sheldon, WI) chipped in five points, two blocks, and a steal.
Oak Hills held a 30–26 edge in points in the paint and outscored Trinity Bible 7–2 in second-chance points, but the Lions' 45 percent shooting from three-point range proved to be the difference. Trinity Bible also finished with 26 assists on 33 made field goals, highlighting their ball movement throughout the night.
The Wolfpack will look to regroup as they continue conference play, traveling to Winnipeg, MB this weekend for a conference doubleheader against the Providence University College Pilots.
