Wolfpack Celebrate Senior Captain Bryson Keepers in Final Home Games
Bemidji, MN – The Oak Hills Christian College Wolfpack wrapped up their home weekend series against the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers with a hard-fought doubleheader at the Schreiber Activity Center, highlighted by an emotional Senior Night celebration honoring Senior Bryson Keepers (Sheldon, WI) and his impact on the Wolfpack program.
Canadian Mennonite took both contests, but the weekend showcased the Wolfpack's resilience, balanced scoring, and the leadership of their senior captain.
Game 1 – Friday Night Battle
Canadian Mennonite 90, Oak Hills Christian 78
Oak Hills competed toe-to-toe with one of the conference's top teams for stretches on Friday night, putting together one of their stronger offensive performances of the season. The Wolfpack shot efficiently from the field and knocked down multiple three-pointers, but a strong second half from the Blazers ultimately created separation.
Junior Nate Vinson (Maple Grove, MN) led the Wolfpack with 28 points and 7 rebounds, continuing his strong scoring stretch. Keepers delivered a standout Senior Night performance, finishing with 17 points and 7 rebounds, while Junior Keith Wilson (Pompano Beach, FL) added 18 points.
Despite the loss, Oak Hills showed offensive rhythm and energy, matching the Blazers for much of the game before late momentum swings tilted the contest.
Game 2 – Saturday Afternoon
Canadian Mennonite 78, Oak Hills Christian 53
In Saturday's finale, the Wolfpack battled defensively and stayed competitive early, trailing by just seven at halftime before the Blazers pulled away in the second half.
Wilson paced Oak Hills with 20 points, while Vinson added 16 points and 5 rebounds. Keepers contributed 6 rebounds, 5 points, and strong defensive presence, continuing to lead with effort and toughness in his final home appearance.
The Wolfpack fought throughout, but Canadian Mennonite's rebounding and interior scoring proved decisive down the stretch.
Head Coach Daved Lundeen reflected on the team's effort over the weekend:
"I am very proud of how hard we played against a great team this weekend while only having 6 healthy and available players. Very difficult situation and our guys were focused and composed. Excited to get back to full strength for the rest of the season and see how strong we finish."
Senior Night Spotlight – Bryson Keepers
Saturday marked the final home game in a Wolfpack uniform for senior captain Bryson Keepers, whose leadership, toughness, and consistency have been a cornerstone for Oak Hills. Over the weekend, Keepers totaled 22 points and 13 rebounds, impacting both ends of the floor while setting the tone with energy and composure.
Head Coach Daved Lundeen reflected on Keepers' impact:
"Bryson has been an absolute blessing to our program for the last four years, as well as to the Oak Hills community as a whole. Bryson is one of the hardest working people I have ever known, in or out of sports. He leads by example, always giving his best and putting his teammates first. Bryson will be missed next year, not just on the court, but in my office, in the dorms, in the van on road trips, and at Oak Hills in general. Thank you to Bryson for everything you've done for the Wolfpack."
Keepers' dedication, competitiveness, and commitment to the Wolfpack program were celebrated by teammates, coaches, and fans, recognizing the lasting mark he leaves on Oak Hills basketball.
The Wolfpack now turn their attention to the final two regular season games next week, looking to build momentum before postseason tournament play begins.
