A Season of Progress: Wolfpack Men’s Basketball Closes 2025-26 Campaign
Bemidji, MN – The Oak Hills Christian College men's basketball team battled through a competitive 2025-26 season, showcasing resilience, offensive firepower, and continued growth as a program.
The Wolfpack opened the season against a challenging non-conference schedule, gaining valuable experience while competing against strong opponents. Early in the year, Oak Hills displayed its offensive potential, highlighted by high-scoring performances and the ability to generate consistent looks through ball movement and transition play.
Throughout the season, the Wolfpack leaned on a balanced offensive attack, with multiple players contributing in key moments. Strong scoring performances were paired with consistent rebounding efforts and unselfish play, as Oak Hills frequently found success when sharing the basketball and creating offensive rhythm.
The season featured a number of standout individual performances, including explosive scoring outings and key efforts on the glass. The Wolfpack also proved its ability to compete in tight contests, battling through several games that came down to late possessions—valuable experience that helped shape the team's growth over the course of the season.
As conference play unfolded, Oak Hills continued to build chemistry and execution. The Wolfpack remained competitive within the NIAC and gained momentum down the stretch, showing continued improvement as the season progressed.
That growth was reflected in postseason results, as the Wolfpack made noticeable strides from the previous season. Oak Hills improved its finish at the NIAC Tournament from 5th place last year to 3rd place this season, while also moving up one spot at the NCCAA North Region Tournament, finishing 5th after placing 6th the year prior.
The program's progress was also recognized through postseason honors. Keith Wilson (Pompano Beach, FL) and Nate Vinson (Maple Grove, MN) were both named to the NIAC All-Conference Team, while Lanygel McCracken (Pensacola, FL) earned NIAC Honorable Mention honors.
At the regional level, McCracken was named to the NCCAA North Region Second Team, while Bryson Keepers (Sheldon, WI) earned Honorable Mention recognition. Keepers was also honored nationally as an NCCAA Scholar Athlete, highlighting his excellence both on the court and in the classroom.
"I'm very proud of what our team accomplished this year," said Head Coach Daved Lundeen. "These young men battled through some incredible adversity this season and helped our program continue to move in the right direction. This group was challenged all year to put God and others before themselves, which is incredibly challenging for anyone, particularly for young men. While we certainly were not perfect, the progress we made in that area makes me more proud than any of the success or accolades we achieved on the court.
"Our President, Dr. Martin Giese, has a saying here at Oak Hills, 'Progress not perfection.' If I could sum up our season with anything, it would be that. This group made amazing progress during the season as individuals and as a team. I can't wait for next season to see them continue to grow."
The Wolfpack closed out the regular season with determination and gained valuable postseason experience in the NIAC tournament, competing in a high-pressure environment.
The season marked important steps forward in development, chemistry, and competitiveness for the Wolfpack. With key contributors returning and a strong foundation in place, Oak Hills Christian College men's basketball looks ahead with confidence to the future.
